Here is a list of some gear our members recommend. Remember that none of these pieces of equipment are required or necessary to buy, but just recommended equipment from our members for those looking for some immersion gear
- MP3 Players
- Offline Music Player (app for ios) - is free, and can transfer mp3 files wirelessly through any computer's wifi connection.
- Flac Player+: an alternative to the above. (It can play MP4, Flac,...) You can transfer files wirelessly through wifi connection. This has less annoying ads.
- Headphones and Earbuds
- TOZO T10 Bluetooth 5.0 Wireless Earbuds: ~$30 USD, 30 hours total with charging case, 6 hours on 1 single charge, fast charging case, IPX8 Waterproof, HIFI-Stereo Sound Quality. I use these everyday and have had them for 2 years.
- HyperX Cloud Alpha: ~$90 USD, Wired Headphones. Dual Chambered Drivers for more distinct and less distorted audio.(Better Sound Quality, with slightly less comfort than Cloud II/2).
- HyperX Cloud II: ~$85 USD, Wired Headphones. Memory Foam Ear Cushions, and Passive Noise Cancellation.(Better Comfortability, with slightly worse audio quality than Cloud Alpha).

- Download a Jap-Eng dictionary on your Kindle. There's only one Jap-Eng dictionary with pitch accent information I know of but you need to side-load it (transfer over USB) to your Kindle as it's too big to email (some USB cables don’t seem to work with the kindle, try several): https://github.com/jmdict-kindle/jmdict-kindle/releases/download/3.0.20220129/jmdict.mobi

- Books in txt-UTF8 need to be converted with AozoraEpub3, otherwise only single characters and not the whole word gets selected: https://github.com/hmdev/AozoraEpub3/blob/master/README.md
- you need at least Java 7 or 8 installed to run Aozora.
- you need kindlegen.exe in the AozoraEpub3 folder.
- Convert your UTF-8 txt file (drag and drop) to .mobi and send it to your Kindle.

- Sentence-Mine: Hold and select phrases, which get saved on your Kindle Paperwhite under documents/myclippings.txt
- Alternatively try making a Japanese Amazon account to buy books.
